Vaccine Mandate for State & Healthcare Workers
Governor Newsom recently announced a requirement for state workers and workers in health care and high-risk congregate settings to either demonstrate proof of full vaccination or be tested at least once per week.
CDPH Issues (3) New Orders On August 6th, the CDPH issued an order requiring workers in health care settings to be fully vaccinated or receive their second dose by September 30, 2021.
As of August 11, (CDPH) regulations require all visitors to a hospital\long term care facility to be fully vaccinated or provide a negative COVID-19 test result taken within the previous 72 hours. Fully vaccinated means at least 2 weeks after the final dose in either a 2 dose or single dose series.

As of August 12th, CDPH regulations require verification of vaccination status among eligible K-12 school workers, and establishes diagnostic screening testing of unvaccinated workers to minimize the risk that they will transmit while on K-12 school campuses, where a majority of students are not vaccinated and younger students are not yet eligible for vaccines.
COVID By the Numbers
As of August 11, according to the CDC, 77.5% of eligible Californians have received one dose. Providers have reported to CDPH that a total of 44,854,015 vaccine doses have been administered statewide. Currently, 85.3% of Santa Clara County residents age 12 and older have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine and roughly 79.8% have completed their vaccination.
