Wine Trolley Driver

The Morgan Hill Wine Trolley, owned and operated by El Toro Tours, is a new local tour company in south Santa Clara County launching in the summer of 2024. We seek part-time, safety-minded commercial drivers to drive a motorized cable car trolley for local wine-tasting tours and private charters in the Morgan Hill, San Martin & Gilroy areas.

Responsibilities:
● Drives a 34’ center-drive, commercial passenger bus within prescribed tour route(s) or private charter trips following the event schedule in compliance with all California driving laws and regulations
● Escorts and assists passengers on and off the vehicle as necessary
● Maintains order of up to 32 passengers according to company policy, instructing passengers on safety regulations and policies
● Conducts pre-trip inspection of assigned vehicle daily, noting fluid levels and reporting needed mechanical repairs when necessary
● Evacuates the vehicle in a safe and timely manner and provides basic first aid as needed in the event of an emergency
● Maintains cleanliness of vehicle to ensure safe operation condition, including but not limited to sweeping the interior and washing the exterior
● Attends various meetings regarding safety, first aid, training updates, etc. as required
● Maintains required mileage and other operational logs as required
● Fills up trolley with gas as needed at a public gas station using a company-provided debit card
● Wears company-provided uniform of shirt, jacket (as needed), and cap (optional)
● Performs related duties consistent with the job description

Requirements:
● California CDL-P OR CDL-S with Air Brakes endorsement
● Safe driving record
● 5 or more years of experience as a commercial driver of school buses or passenger vehicles
● DOT Medical Card
● Pass random and post-accident drug testing
● Fluid English speaker, other languages are a plus.
● Able to work Saturday and/or Sunday tours between 12 pm and 6 pm. (Friday afternoon tours and additional shifts may be available for weekend and weekday private charter tours.)
● All new drivers are subject to a drug test & background check and must be eligible to work in the United States. (Visa sponsorship is not available for this position)
● CPR or First Aid certification is a plus

Compensation & Benefits
● Hourly pay ranges from $26 - $28 per hour, depending on skills and experience

This woman- and minority-owned local business will serve south Santa Clara County wineries and event venues with fun, unique, and Instagramable transportation options for locals, tourists, and private event guests. We will sell individual tickets for pre-planned wine tours on a motorized cable car trolley. Additionally, we will offer private tours, event charters, and shuttle services.
