Mechanic / Shop Manager

MG Constructors and Engineers, INC seeks a skilled and experienced individual to assume a role as Mechanic/Shop Manager. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of heavy equipment maintenance, repair, and shop operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, and technical abilities.

Responsibilities:
• Mechanic Duties: Perform routine and preventative maintenance on a fleet of construction equipment. Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions. Order and maintain inventory of necessary parts and supplies.
• Shop Management: Oversee daily shop operations, including scheduling, work assignments, and resource allocation. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Implement and enforce safety protocols. Manage shop personnel, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.

Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a mechanic in the construction industry
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills
• Proficient in diagnosing and repairing diesel equipment, including small engines
• Knowledge of shop management principles and practices
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required
• Basic computer literacy

Working conditions
• The normal workday will be from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. However, the hours may be long when specific projects are due, thus some extended schedules will be necessary. This is a key management position and must attend scheduled management meetings before or after normal working hours.
• The majority of the time will be spent in a non-smoking Shop/Office. Additional time may be spent in vehicles.

Compensation:
Hourly rate ranging from $45 to $65, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
